The school is known as Yubo National High School.
In school year 1998 – 1999, the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS) approved the nationalization of Doña Hortencia Salas Benedicto NHS - La Granja Extension. At the same time, La Granja NHS – Yubo Extension opened with complete year levels having one section each, from first to fourth year, located within the campus of Yubo Elementary School.
The school started to have three teachers, namely; Mrs. Nenebeth Chavez - Yuma, Mrs. Nelia Gabales - Cawaya and Mr. Fercelcie S. Sia under Mrs. Nenita P. Avanceña as the school head (principal of La Granja NHS).
It was in school year 2002 - 2003 when Dr. Eunice Paz S. Gumasing took over the place of Mrs. Avanceña as the school principal of La Granja NHS and La Granja NHS - Yubo Extension. Dr. Ruth P. Convite acted as the school's Teacher In-Charge from 2007 to 2009.
As the school’s population continued to grow, the number of teachers also increased. As of school year 2013 – 2014, YEHS consisted of two sections served by ten faculty members. Mr. Jose C. Lutao became the Teacher In-Charge of Yubo Extension High School from 2009 up to the month of October 2015. He was then succeeded by Mrs. Pinky R. Te Riini as the Teacher In-Charge until June 2016.
Ms. Ivy T. Dalisay was then designated as the Teacher In-Charge from July 2016 until January 2019. Dr. Jeanalyn L. Jamison (Principal II of Doña Hortencia Salas Benedicto NHS - Senior High School) acted as the Officer In-Charge of the school from February 2019 until June 2019.
On July 2019, Mr. Romeo G. Jamison, Jr. was designated as the school’s Teacher In-Charge. He served as the TIC until September 30, 2020. He was then replaced by Ms. Ivy T. Dalisay on October 1, 2020 as the new school's Teacher-In-Charge until July 29, 2022.
The Department of Education (DepEd) Regional Office VI approved the renaming of La Granja NHS - Yubo Extension to Yubo National High School effective School Year 2022 - 2023. Mr. Jeffrey R. Castel, Jr., Division Information Technology Officer I, currently serves as the Officer-In-Charge of the school effective August 1, 2022 up to the present.
The school presently offers complete Junior High School (JHS) classes from Grade 7 to 10 and Academic Track - Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Strand for Senior High School (SHS).
